
Government Degree College (GDC) Marheen celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic zeal on its campus. The programme was organized under the patronage of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the National Tricolor by the worthy Principal, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, filling the campus with a spirit of nationalism.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta highlighted the historical significance of Republic Day and paid tribute to the great heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation. She emphasized the importance of the Indian Constitution and urged students to uphold constitutional values while fulfilling their responsibilities as citizens to strengthen democracy. She also underscored the ideals of unity, equality, and integrity, which form the backbone of the nation.
Students of GDC Marheen actively participated in the celebrations with great enthusiasm. The college campus was beautifully decorated with national flags, lights, rangoli, and flowers, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Faculty members present on the occasion included Dr. Arun Dev Singh, Dr. Balbinder Singh, Prof. Anoop Sharma, Dr. Munisha Devi, Dr. Shallu Rani, Prof. Preeti, Prof. Charan, Prof. Sonia Saini, along with other non-teaching staff.
The programme featured cultural performances, including patriotic songs and thought-provoking presentations by students. On the occasion, students were also felicitated for their active participation in various competitions and for their commendable achievements, making the celebration memorable and inspiring.
