
Kathua; 06 March :- J&K Police Kathua organized THANA DIWAS today on 6th of March 2025, at PS level, under the directions of SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS, to listen to the police related and other grievances of general public.
In a statement issued by Kathua Police, it was told that as per schedule of observing THANA DIWAS- Lok Darbar District Police Kathua organized this event at its Police Stations level i. e P/S Rajbagh, Lakhanpur, Hiranagar, Basohli & Malhar under the supervision of concerned supervisory officers.
Firstly, Thana Diwas was held at village Khanpur (PS Rajbagh) in presence of SSP Kathua Sh Shobhit Saksena IPS and SDPO Border Sh Dheeraj KAtoch JKPS, which was attended by ex Sarpanches, panches, shopkeepers , Retired Police Personnel and other respectables of village khanpur as well as adjoining areas , approx 100/150 persons attended the program.

Moreover to increase coordination between Police and public, Today a “Lok Darbar” has also been Organized in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lakhanpur in which Addl. SP Kathua Sh. Rahul Charak JKPS, Ex Chairman MC Lakhanpur Sh. Ravinder Kumar, Ex Chairman, Surmu Din, Ex Chairman, MC Lakhanpur Kaka Ram and other prominent citizens of Lakhanpur were present in the event.

Furthermore, Thana Diwas in Police Station Hiranagar saw the participation of members of Civil society, Students of different institutions and the function was presided over by SSP ACB Jammu, Sh Kulwant Singh Jasrotia along with SP Operation Kathua Sh. Nasir Khan, SHO Hiranagar, BMO Hiranagar Dr. Swami Saran and central administrator One Stop Centre Kathua Mrs. Anjisha.The primary focus of the event was to familiarise the local populace about the menace of drugs/ corruption.

In addition, Thana Diwas at PS Kathua chaired by DySP Hqrs Kathua Sh. Ravinder Singh accompanied by SHO PS Kathua Insp. Sandeep Chib. Thana Diwas at PS Malhar chaired by SP Ops Upper Kathua, DySP Ops Malhar and SHO PS Malhar whereas Thana Diwas at PS Basohli chaired by SDPO Basohli and SHO PS Basohli in which 50-60 peoples including civilians, PRI’s and respectables of the concerned areas participated.
Thus, overall a large number of Civilians /complainants participated in this event with their grievances and complaints. A patient hearing was given to the grievances of complainants put forth by the people who participated and a number of police services were given to the needy persons.Moreover people were made aware about provisions of new criminal laws and were exhorted to cooperate police in eradicating the menace of drug peddling bovine smuggling etc.
Pertinent to mention here that THANA DIWAS is organized by J&K Police Kathua to deliver the Police services at door step for the convenience of general public.
