
Marheen: The Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College, Marheen celebrated World AIDS Day by organizing a thought-provoking debate, highlighting the global theme “Ending AIDS: Empower, Educate, Act.” The programme aimed to raise awareness and promote informed dialogue among students on HIV/AIDS and its global impact.
The debate witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who presented diverse viewpoints on HIV/AIDS prevention, the importance of education, reduction of stigma, and the crucial role of youth in achieving an AIDS-free future. The event provided an effective platform to empower students with accurate knowledge, educate them about current challenges, and inspire collective action toward ending the AIDS epidemic.
The programme was organized under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta, Principal of the College, who, in her address, urged students to empower themselves with correct information, dispel myths associated with HIV/AIDS, and actively engage in awareness initiatives within society.
The event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Balbinder Singh, Convener, Red Ribbon Club, along with Dr. Munisha Devi. Faculty members Prof. Sandeep Chaudhary, Dr. Arun Dev Singh, Dr. Shallu Rani, Prof. Manu Saini, Dr. Preeti, Dr. Sonia, and Dr. Reemi were also present on the occasion, lending their support to the successful conduct of the programme.
The event concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing the message of awareness, empathy, and collective responsibility in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
