
Marheen, Dec 18: The Voter Literacy Club of Government Degree College, Marheen organized a panel discussion on “Youth and the Indian Constitution” on December 18, 2025, with the aim of sensitizing students about constitutional values and democratic principles.
The discussion was held in an interactive format and divided into three groups, each comprising one faculty member and two students to ensure balanced participation and meaningful dialogue. Group A included Dr. Preeti Khajuria with students Ritika and Mansi; Group B comprised Dr. Reemi along with Niharika and Muskan; while Group C included Dr. Sonia Saini with students Manat Badgal and Deeraj Sharma.
During the session, speakers emphasized the significance of the Indian Constitution in safeguarding fundamental rights, outlining citizens’ duties, and highlighting the vital role of youth in strengthening democracy. Students actively shared their perspectives on equality, freedom, social justice, and constitutional responsibilities, making the discussion vibrant and insightful. Faculty members guided the discussion by simplifying complex constitutional concepts, helping students relate them to real-life situations.
The programme concluded with an engaging interaction, leaving students inspired to become informed, responsible, and active citizens. The event was organized under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta, Principal of the College, who encouraged students to actively participate in such academic activities to enhance their skills and overall development.
The programme was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Balbinder Singh, Dr. Shallu Rani, and Prof. Manu Saini. Faculty members including Prof. Sandeep Chaudhary, Prof. Anoop Sharma, Dr. Munisha Devi, Dr. Reemi Verma, Dr. Preeti Khajuria, Dr. Sonia Saini, and Prof. Charan were also present on the occasion, contributing to the successful conduct of the event.
