
Pulwama 11 October :Irfan Gani Bhat :The District Congress Committee Pulwama today held an interactive session with all Block Presidents at Townhall Pulwama as part of the ongoing “Vote Adhikar” Signature Campaign, aimed at safeguarding democratic rights and exposing those indulging in vote manipulation and electoral injustice.
The session was held under the slogan “Vote Chor Gaddi Chod”, symbolizing the people’s voice against betrayal of their mandate and the misuse of democratic institutions.
The meeting was chaired by District Coordinator and former MLA, Jenab Abdul Rahim Rather Sahib, and was attended by District President Pulwama, Jenab Umer Jaan, and senior Congress leader Adv. Zameer Farooq, along with all Block Presidents and prominent party workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Ab Rahim Rather Sahib stressed that Congress will continue to fight for every citizen’s vote right and dignity. He said, “Those who steal people’s votes have no moral right to remain in power. The Congress will expose this daylight robbery of democracy.”
District President Umer Jaan highlighted the importance of the Vote Adhikar campaign as a people’s movement to restore faith in the electoral system. He urged all Block Presidents to take this message to every village and mohalla of Pulwama.
Adv. Zameer Farooq emphasized that the time has come for youth and civil society to stand against vote manipulation and support the campaign for truth and transparency.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge from all Congress workers to defend democracy, protect people’s mandate, and strengthen the “Vote Adhikar” movement across South Kashmir.
