
Kathua 4th March : NSS units of GDC Kathua organised a series of activities including a rally on swachhata abhiyan, a cleanliness drive and a strret play. The whole event was a part of ongoing winter camp 2025. The event aimed to spread awareness about cleanliness, environmental conservation and social responsibility among the community.

The event commenced with a rally in which NSS volunteers along with NSS program officers marched through the streets holding play cards and chanting slogans promoting cleanliness and environmental sustainability. The rally encouraged local residents to adopt hygienic practices and take part in keeping their surrounding clean.
After the rally, volunteers actively participated in the swachhta abhiyan by cleaning the premises of the temple centrally located in the village Logate. Following the cleanliness drive, NSS volunteers performed a street play on the themes of cleanliness, environmental conservation and social awareness. Through an interactive and entertaining performance, the play conveyed the significance of proper waste disposal, hygiene and sustainable living practices. Volunteers also distributed sampling of plants and indigenous trees, jute and cotton bags made from used clothes to the local residents.

The whole event was a great success. Prof. Seema Mir, worthy Principal of the college appreciated the NSS team for their commendable efforts in organising and successfully executing the swachhta abhiyan. This initiative aimed to instil a sense of responsibility and encourage sustainable waste management practices.
