At least six people were feared trapped after a multi-storey building in Ludhiana collapsed on Saturday, officials said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The incident took place in Focal Point area. Eyewitnesses said the entire area was shaken by the collapse.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There were no immediate details on the building and its occupants but Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said it was a factory.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“A factory collapse has been reported in Ludhiana. I have asked the administration to immediately assess the situation. The rescue teams have reached the spot and started their work. I pray for the speedy recovery of those buried under the debris,” Mr Mann said in a post on X.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Jatinder Jorwal said a few people have been rescued and shifted to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

“The rescue operations are still underway. Six people are feared trapped. As of now, no deaths have taken place,” Mr Jorwal told reporters.\u00a0
