An Indian student has been in a hospital in the US after an accident this month, with her family members in Maharashtra seeking help to get a visa to meet her.<\/p>\n

Neelam Shinde, 35, a resident of Maharashtra’s Satara district, was allegedly hit by a car while she was walking on the road on February 14. She is currently in the ICU. The police have arrested the car driver.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, speaking to NDTV, sought External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s help to get Ms Shinde’s father,\u00a0Tanaji Shinde, a visa.<\/p>\n

“Need to resolve this alarming issue,” she said.<\/p>\n

She also took to her official X account and said that Mr Shinde has applied for an urgent visa to the US and requires assistance.<\/p>\n
