At least ten shops were gutted after a fire broke out at a furniture market in suburban Oshiwara here on Tuesday morning, an official said.<\/p>\n
The official said there was no report of casualty in the blaze that erupted around 11.30 am in the market on Swami Vivekanand Marg.<\/p>\n
He said more than 20 fire engines, water tankers and other equipment have been pressed into service to contain the fire that has been categorised as Level 2 (major).<\/p>\n
The official said the blaze began at a furniture godown and spread to the adjacent shops on the ground floor of the market.<\/p>\n
He added that the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.<\/p>\n
