A 25-year-old\u00a0MBA\u00a0student\u00a0died\u00a0by\u00a0suicide\u00a0on Tuesday after jumping from the ninth floor of his flat at a high-rise\u00a0in\u00a0Indirapuram, police said.<\/p>\n

The student has been identified as Harshit Tyagi, who is said to have been battling drug addiction and depression, they said.<\/p>\n

According to police, Tyagi left his room on the pretext of going to the bathroom but\u00a0instead made his way to the balcony of his Angel Jupiter Society flat and jumped.<\/p>\n

His mother, Poonam Tyagi, and cousin, Himanshu Vats, rushed him to a private hospital\u00a0in\u00a0Noida, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. ACP\u00a0Indirapuram Abhishek Srivastav said that the case is under\u00a0investigation.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0another\u00a0incident, Jaideep Singh (18), a resident of Badarpur, Delhi, drowned while bathing\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0Ganga\u00a0Canal\u00a0at Muradnagar on Tuesday. His elder brother, Shiv Kumar (21), had accompanied him to\u00a0Ghaziabad\u00a0for a bath when Jaideep ventured\u00a0into deep waters and was swept away.<\/p>\n

Despite tireless efforts\u00a0by\u00a0private divers, his body could not be recovered. Authorities have contacted the NDRF flood rescue team for assistance, but as of the evening, Jaideep’s body had not been found, officials said.<\/p>\n
